Joint seminar «Political repression in Russia, 2012-2023»

Data

The OVD-Info team began collecting data in its first year of operation.

We believe that the data we collect and process will help us understand how civil rights violations and state violence in general work, so that as many experts, researchers, graduate and undergraduate students as possible can begin their research in this area today.

In June 2020, we will launch a newsletter for researchers and experts. In it, we will announce new reports, data and datasets.

If you have a data request or want to do a joint project with us email data@ovdinfo.org!

Inoteka

On September 29, the Ministry of Justice included OVD-Info in the register of unregistered public associations acting as a «foreign agent».

In 2021, 11 media outlets, 42 journalists and 8 NPOs were also included in the registers of «foreign agents». We view this as an act of governmental pressure.

In the course of 9 years, since the adoption of the law in 2012, the total of 315 «inoagents» were registered, and 50 more organizations were deemed undesirable.

The legislation on «foreign agents» is aimed to weaken and destroy the institutions of civil society and should be abolished

We have collected data about organizations that were deemed «undesirable» on the Russian territory, and also about all of those who were recognized as «foreign agents». All data we publish is presented as a constantly updated dataset.

We look forward to receiving your feedback!
